The Caterpillar 914G Wheel Loader was introduced in England in 1995 and began production in Japan a year later. The machine is powered by a Caterpillar 3054 direct-injection turbocharged, four cylinder transverse engine producing 90 HP.

Production of the Caterpillar 914G Wheel Loader ceased in 2004. It was followed by the 914G Series II, 914H, 914K, and 914M, and since 2020, the Caterpillar 914 "Next Generation" Wheel Loader has been the current model in the 914 series.

As for the 914 Wheel Loader, the only scale model, is the Caterpillar 914G released by CCM as a 1:48th scale brass replica in a Limited Edition of 300 units. It would be great if Diecast Masters were able to release the "Next Generation" Caterpillar 914 Wheel Loader in 1:50th scale.
