In 1963 Caterpillar introduced the company's first articulated Wheel- Loaders and Dozers. The first two articulated frame steering Wheel Dozers where the 824 and 834 model series. Both models were also released as a compactor model variation featuring an optional sheep foot or tamping foot steel wheels. But in 1970 both of these variations would be assigned new model nomenclature and the Caterpillar 824B became the Caterpillar 825B Soil Compactor.

Subsequently Caterpillar developed since then the 825C, 825G, 825G Series II, 825H and since 2014, the 825K is the latest member in the 825 series. At present, the Caterpillar 825K  Soil Compactor is the flagship of the 825 family. Powered by a Caterpillar C15 ACERTâ„¢ Engine good for 400hp which meets American EPA Tier 4 EU Stage IIIB emissions standard.

Of the 825 Series both NZG and Joal have produced the 1:50 scale die-cast model of the Caterpillar 825B Soil Compactor,  Norscot released the 825H in 1:50th scale. In 2022 a custom Caterpillar 825C was built. It would be a great deal if Diecast Masters surprised us with the new Caterpillar 825K Soil Compactor!
